Calling potential nanny/babysitter

When I return to work in early November, my parents will be watching the baby 2 days a week. Obviously, this means we need to find childcare for 3 days a week. Initially, I thought daycare was what I wanted, but now I'm leaning towardsa a nanny/babysitter.

Anyway, last week I got a name from a woman I work with (I'm a teacher). Her friend watches someone else's baby 2 days a week and said she would be interested in 3 days a week. Great! Except ... I don't even know what to say when I call this woman! We're talking 6 mos. away ...

How would this conversation go? I realize I sound kinda stupid, but I'm just at a loss here. Thanks for any advice you have!

I would think that it would be mostly like an interview and i think 6 months out is an ok amount of time to nail someone down. She will probably have to make arrangements as well as you.

Hi, this is InShock. So&So gave me your name as for a possible 3 day daycare possiblity for my son/daughter.

I realize this is early but I'm looking to interview someone so I can set something up before the baby is born.

Would you have time to meet for an interview?"

Thanks, ladies! Are there any particularly important questions I should ask her that I may not think of? Of course I will meet with her, but what questions should I ask during the initial conversation?
