calorie counting-can anyone help??
so i'm doing my own little version of calorie counting. (trying to loose 5-8lbs, and revise my eating habits.) i've been using the program on www.livestrong.com, and it is awesome! i work out regularly, and my daily calories "allowed" are 1553. it also has a tool to factor in workouts. so today, i have 1553 calories available. i did hot yoga this morning, and burned around 500 calories. does that mean i actually have 2003 calories allowed for today? or still just eat 1553?
sorry if this is confusing! i'm just trying to figure this out!

I THINK you should eat somewhere in between the two? Because if you eat all of the calories you worked out, then you're not going to lose anything? But if you only eat 1533, then you'll be hungry? Or just eat 1533? Sorry, that probably wasn't the answer you were looking for. But I definitely think you shouldn't eat all 2000.

Wow does yoga really burn that many calories? was it hot yoga for 90 minutes? If not I am not sure if it is accurate.
Either way whenever I did the calorie counter thing I never put my activity in there. The only times I would eat more is when I did a long run and was starving, or something like that.
Good luck!

yes, it was/is hot yoga for 90 minutes. i usually take a class 3-4 times per week, and walk 3-4 miles with weights when i don't go.

Are you wearing a heart rate monitor with a calorie counter? That's a better way to gauge how many calories you're accurately burning.
