Calorie counting- How to count calories on meals you make

I am counting calories and using the s health app on my Samsung phone. If I make a meal for dinner that does not have any nutritional information, how do I keep track of those calories? For example, I made a stuffed pepper explosion for dinner last night. I put together pepper, onions, chicken chopped meat, 2 cups of shredded cheese, diced tomatoes and 3 cups of cooked rice. Cooked the chicken meat and then put it all together in a casserole dish and baked it with the cheese on top. How do I put together the nutritional information and count my calories based on my serving size? Is there a way to do this? TIA!

What I do is I research each item online
By weight or cup
1 pepper = xx calories
2 cups cheese = xx calories
1 lb chopped meat = xx calories

I add it all up and divide into servings. Whether it's by weight (3 oz.) or cups 1/2 cup, etc

It's a pain in the butt at first but if u eat the same stuff all the time, you'll already have the "formula" down

I use myfitnesspal app. It has a lot of foods already logged in (go by the ones win a green check mark)

its a lot of work but you have to find the calories of each individual item, then add them together and divide by the portion size.

oh well also-- are you using your own/family recipes or ones in cookbooks, from websites, etc? Because a lot of them are already entered. Do you use myfitness pal? Sometimes they have recipes from magazines and cookbooks already entered for me. I feel like I hit the jackpot when I find one and don't have to do the work myself.

I'm using an app that came with my phone called S Health. Most of my recipes come from pinterest. Some have the nutritional information but most don't. I'll try my fitness pal. I was only using this app because it was pre downloaded on my phone. Thank you!!

Myfitnesspal is great too because if the recipe isn't already saved you can build it using their ingredients and then it will save it in your recipes. It's still annoying but not as bad as doing it all yourself.

Thanks! I switched to MFP and there is also something in the app that will upload a recipe from any website. It will pull all the Ingrdients and give you the nutrition Information. Now to figure out how much is in a serving.
