camcorder disc tech help please?

my parents have the mini disc from their camcorder and we can view the video on the camcorder monitor but when we put the disk in the DVD player or computer drive - it says the videos cant be detected??? anyone know whats up? i have zero camcorder experience and its their first one too? thank you

I think you first need to finalize the disc in the camcorder before you can watch it on your TV DVD player.

Also--as far as watching it on your computer...you need to finalize it and you need some sort of "Plug in" for windows media player which allows you to view it on the computer.
