Camera Help Needed
Okay so currently I have a typical point and shoot (it is the Sony Cybershot). Dispute the fact that it has a night mode feature, the night pictures never come out because you have to be 100% still (and lets be honest no one has a hand that still!!!). In addition, action shots do not come out well at all either!!
We are looking to upgrade our camera because of this, however, I do not know enough about cameras. Do SLRs take great night photos? Will this night photo and action shot problem be eliminated if we upgraded to an SLR!
Help I am technology stupid!

Re: Camera Help Needed
There is no guarantee with a digital SLR that your photos will come out great during the day or at night. It's more about the person using the camera.
However, with a DSLR, you are given more options because you can shoot in manual as you learn more about photography. Putting it on Auto, you can still get blurry photos.
The DSLRs do tend to have a higher ISO (think way back it was called the "speed of the film"). You can also buy a lens with a wide aperture (that means a bigger opening, which will let more light in - and in an ironic twist, the bigger the opening the smaller the number - for example f/1.4 is a larger opening than f/3.5).
