Camp help needed, would you send your DC

Ava is almost 9 and is just finishing third grade. She needs to attend summer camp, because we work full time.

She is very involved in our local community theater. They offer a summer camp, but it is inside all day. There is no swimming, sports, arts and crafts.

I feel that she should be outside running around and getting dirty. She wants theater camp.

Wwyd?

Is there any way to split the time? Like 1-2 weeks at theater camp, the remaining weeks in a regular camp program?

If she wants to go to camp there I would let her. I agree with you, I feel like kids should be outside as much as possible when the weather is nice. You still have after camp and weekends, right?

I would send her to the theater camp for part of the summer & then an outdoor camp for the other part.

It's summer - the one time where they get to not focus on school, relax a little. I try to accommodate their wishes if the times work out & it's within my budget.

I would just send her to the indoor one if that's where she wants to go. Not all kids enjoy being outside when it's 95 degrees and sweating all day. I know mine don't! We don't do Summer long camps, but the mini ones I do sign up for are indoors and in A/C (gymnastics, bowling, girly spa, etc.). It's just too hot. We go to the park to run around, etc. in the evening when it's cooler.
