when we're going to bed and fight going to sleep - I swear she knows when we're putting her down and then fights it!!!Chat Icon I also notice that she LOVES to sleep on me or anyone for that fact - is it too early for her to learn this - I don't want it to become a habit!!! Chat Icon

From what I have read it might be too early for her to know that. Enjoy her sleepingon you while she is small enough to do so. Chat Icon

I'm sure a big part of it is your heartbeat. She's heard it for months in utereo. Another part of it is that she's on her stomach but I wont go there Chat Icon

Yep same here - she loves to sleep ON us. I dont really mind because she hasnt been sleeping lately so if she wants to nap on my chest while Im sitting on the couch its fine with me. As for the stomach sleeping...I was SO against this because of SIDS but honestly, laying on her stomach helps her pass the gas and she needs help with that. I dont put her down for the night like that but I let her nap that way when Im right next to her. Ive only been doing that for 2 days and she has been better.

Jackson also loves to sleep on me (and DH). I put him on his stomach and lay him on my chest, but only when he won't go to sleep in the pack 'n play. DH and I were just talking about this yesterday - wondering if it's bad that we let him sleep on his stomach on us.....

Gracie LOVES to sleep on me or DH on her belly. I think this is good way to get in "tummy time" and bond with her.

I think if we are watching her sleep it is not bad for her to sleep on her stomach.

Re: can a 1 month old really know...

In the beginning, the only way I could get Christopher to nap was to let him lay on his stomach on my chest. I asked my pediatrician about letting him do this and he said it was ok. He said he's never heard of a case of SIDS from a baby lying on the mom's chest -- he's only heard of it when the baby is on his stomach in his crib/bassinet. His biggest concern was that I might fall asleep while holding the baby like that.

thanks everyone - glad to hear I'm not alone - I have no clue as to what's normal and what's not and don't want to bombard my pediatrician with MORE questions - he already probably thinks we're insane LOL
