Can a Blank DVD hold images just like a CD?
We recvd DVD's instead of CD's and we need to use one right away.
What is the difference?

Yes, they can hold images. Some of our photgraphers give us images on DVDs.
Whoever is on the other end may not be able to read it though if they don't have a DVD reader.

Yes it can. It can hold much more actually.
Agreed - the only different will be the player. Make sure the DVD player you use will accept the burned DVD, and that the computer has a DVD drive.

In order to be able to put images on a blank DVD, your computer needs to have a DVD burner. It won't work in the regular CD burner.
