Re: can anyone rec a daycare in east meadow?
I am looking too in the Merrick/Bellmore/East Meadow area but having a hard time finding someplace P/T. I am going to call Firehouse on Monday. Most places at DS's age (I am looking for Sept. when he is around 17 mos.) only have full-time 5 days/wk. I want to put him in something for the same reasons. There is a child care center by the Merrick train station called Precious Kids Too that starts at 18 mo. and might be able to accomodate 3 1/2 days in Sept. but right now there is a waiting list for their f/t kids so they will let me know around August.

this is what I need pt and DD is 18 months old. I want to send her for 2 or 3 days so that she can play and interact with other children she would love that, especially since I am due in october and I am afraid she may get bored with me spending time with a newborn. she loves playdates but I want more of a formal atmosphere for her. is there a waiting list for pt too? how much does this cost? as you can see I am so clueless.

I don't know about PT for her age.
I used to go to Tutor Time in Levittown. The teacher in that age group used to be so good. She loved DS.

Re: can anyone rec a daycare in east meadow/merrick/hicksville?
My DS was in TLC Merrick Ave, Merrick from 3 mos - 18 mos. I loved everyone there. Especially his infant (Monique) and twoddler(Mary) teachers. About 10 yrs ago I worked in daycare so I knew the ins and out of what to look for and I really loved TLC. The owner Francina is a little loopy, but I guess when working with that many little ones it is understandable. She also has part time which most places do not, especially for the young ones. In addition, I really liked that they had their infant room broken up into 3 different "rooms". Any questions, feel free to FM me.

I know a number of the daycares/preschools in the East Meadow area b/c I work there with children. We like Firehouse and the program in the temple just down Old Westbury Rd. from Meadowbrook Elementary (not a religious program). I don't know if Red Robin on Jericho Tpke. has a daycare, but they have been alright and the parents have been happy.
