I got DD a few books that were about being a big sister (I'm the big sister)- nothing special. My ped said he recommends giving kids around 2 to get them a baby doll so that they can play with the baby and tell them that the baby doll is their baby and this way they can change diapers, feed etc when you do.

Thanks...I'm going to hit Barnes and Noble today.
I heard this about the baby doll too - you think this would go over well even with a boy - my DS wants nothing to do with dolls. Maybe I can tell him to take care of his trucks Or, maybe I'll try his doggy or something like that...Thank you!

Well you could think of it as training him to help you with the baby and take that approach with it more so than looking at it as a doll. Although there are only 3 girls in DD's preschool class and I notice a lot of the boys not only play with the baby dolls but they also put them in carriages and push them around....hahahaha
