Can anyone recommend a caterer in the smithtown area and/or a place to have a small afternoon wedding (30ish people)

Not sure if you were looking just for a restaurant for after the ceremony. But the 1st 2 that came to mind were
H2O and Union Station

In terms of catering I would probably try La Familgia, Butera's, Mannino's and even Uncle Guissepe's.
A party room is a bit harder. If its in the afternoon, I would assume you'll have more luck.
Smithtown Landing is very pretty but the food is only ok.
In terms of restaurant's Garden Grill has an upstairs room and is very pretty. Again food is ok. Also, Villa Sorrento, I **think** has a private room.
For something less formal, I would also try La Familgia, Butera's and Chop House. The food is good at all of those places.

Elelgant Eating catered my engagement party and they were awasome. I would highly recommend them.

agree, actually my wedding was there and at the same time a small wedding (more like a dinner party) of about 30 guests was also taking place in the mill room.

Myra & co catered my wedding 10 years ago (we got married at Mills Pond House in St James...it was absolutely beautiful) and the food was a-mazing! I also highly recommend them!

The Watermill has a really pretty room that seats about that many people. My aunt and uncle had their 50th wed anni there and it was lovely

Upstairs at the Stonebridge Country Club...had my wedding there, but in the big reception room and the food was TO DIE FOR!
