Can anyone recommend a good historical fiction novel for middle schoolers?

One that deals with the Revolutionary War...other than My Brother Sam is Dead. Thanks Chat Icon

Haven't read this one- but I love Avi.

I loved Sarah Bishop by Scott O'Dell. Awesome.

Silent to the Bone is about a young child who is captured by the Tories.

There is another book about a little girl who dresses up as a boy to bring a message to General Washington for her grandfather since he fell ill. For the life of me, I cannot think of the name of it. It is a fifth-sixth grade level.

just to add another - The Winter Hero is another Collier book...but I think just one of the brothers wrote it.
