Can anyone recommend a traffic lawyer?
is that what they are called?
I ansered a summons last week and the judge postponed it because he advised me to get a lawyer.
I had Geico for the longest(6 years) then switched over to Unitrin. i ended geico in on 3/15/08 and i was supposed to start unitrin then. But they had me done as 4/15/08 so basically i didnt know i was driving around with no insurance for a month and was pulled over on 4/13/08. These are just made up dates.
Can anyone recommend anyone before i look in the yellow pages.

Ouch. Better get a lawyer.
I was in court and somebody got stuck with one of these. It was like a $1000 fine, another $500 fine, and a license suspension I believe.
Or something along those lines.
I think they typically have advertisements for lawyers near the traffic courthouse. Or maybe you can call the courthouse and ask for a referral?

Re: Can anyone recommend a traffic lawyer?
Also... why don't you ask Unitrin to just make the insurance retroactive 3/15/08.
You didn't make any claims with them during that period so I can't see why they wouldn't do this and you just pay the difference. Thats what the traffic judge suggested the person do when I was in court.
Was this their error (Unitrin?) or yours?

ooh they can do this? it was a huge error of being absent minded on my part when i applied o unitrin.
do you know what gets me angry though. That i know i will pay hefty fines and this is only my first and only ever offense. But they were people there with 3, 4 time or more offenders getting just a slap on the wrist. Someone driving with never having a licence, someone speeding and it was their 4th offense, etc... all of them got off quickly.

What county are we talking about? What where you pulled over for initially?
