Re: Can anyone recommend an agency that does IQ testing?
LISG (Long Island School for the GIfted) is in Suffolk (Huntington), but they will do testing for prospective students. I believe that The South Shore Center for Gifted Preschoolers also will test prospects. I am pretty sure most psychologists can also test for IQ - so if you do a google search for child psychologists in Nassau you ought to get a few hits!
HTH!

Thanks! We did have his IQ tested by a psychologist when he was being evaluated for OT at 4.5 years old (last spring), but it was the Wechsler (WPPSI) and not comprehensive b/c we weren't there for an IQ test and I didn't pay $250.
I would imagine the LISG could recommend someone even if we weren't interested in sending DS there. I may just call them.
Thanks again!
Anyone else have a suggestion?

Re: Can anyone recommend an agency that does IQ testing?
LISG does not do their own testing. they can point you in a direction though.
a good place, thats not too expensive to have the testing done is Hofstra. they are cheaper than the private psychologists usually.
its done through the saltzman center there. the grad students do the actual testing, but its overseen by the faculty.
LISG accepts the hofstra testing for their admission process.
the web site for saltzman is:
http://www.hofstra.edu/Community/slzctr/index.html
ETA: the wait to get an appointment can be a bit long since it is cheaper than going alot of other places. but sometimes you can get a last minute appt if you call at the right moment. we got in quickly because we had it done during winter break. just meant we had to wait longer for the final paperwork to come back since the faculty was all off at the time.
