Can anyone recommend an awesome seafood restaurant
My husband is requesting dinner at "a really good seafood restaurant" for his birthday. We're boring with restaurants and for seafood we usually go to either the Nautical Mile or our favorite Italian place. We'd like to branch out  We live in south shore Nassau, but we're willing to travel for great seafood (LI only please). Atmosphere and food can be fancy or not, doesn't matter as long as the food is great. tia!

no atmosphere - it's actually a dive... but Popei's has AMAZING seafood (I've only tried the Sayville location)

Too bad you do not want NYC otherwise I highly recommend Bond45. I treated DH a couple of weeks ago and he was  &  &  over his chilian seabass and my seafood risotto was yummy as well. It's a bit on the pricy side too.

Crabby Dan's in Glen head is really good and has a fun outside bar. It is not fancy.

I agree! The food is good, the servers are friendly and the prices are VERY reasonable!
I also really loved Fat Fish in Bay Shore.
H2O is good too - nice ambience, really lovely sushi and the millenium lobster was very good... but it's pricey and I think the food is better at both the above mentioned places

Riverbay in Williston Park is really good. Very pricey though.
I think the lobster at Legal Seafood is good too.

I love Popei's! Any location I've been to is great, although my favorite is the one in Coram.

I actually really like Popei's too. H2o is great as well. I would definitely recommend Fat Fish though if you're willing to travel out to Bay Shore. It's right on the water, the food is great and I'm not sure about now, but in the summer they usually have live music and they also have a really good wine bar.

we practically ive @ the one in wantagh... its nothing fancy by no means, but the food & the prices are great

I have always had a good meal at Riverbay. It is in Williston Park. And as mentioned above Cool fish is also very good. But not a fish restaurant restaurant per se - but they have several fish items on their menu.

alletto's in lindenhurst on montauk highway is good. they have early bird specials (cash only) and those prices are good. menu is seafood, italian.
also very good seafood, but a total hole in the wall. the steam room in port jefferson. summer is counter service, winter they do it as a dining room. but the best lobsters.

This is the definition of "not fancy" but it is one of our favorite restaurants, seafood or otherwise.
Southside Fishmarket in Lindenhurst. It's a fish market that also is a restaurant, picnic type tables and paper plates.
