Can anyone suggest some good homemade baked goods I can make for Ava?

I'm really trying to get back to basics for my family in terms of food. I am sick of having food with high fructose corn syrup and preservatives, etc., so I've been baking a lot lately for snacks for us. Recently I made whole wheat chocolate chip cookies and Ava loved them and this week I made whole wheat pumpkin spice muffins and whole wheat banana muffins. I'm just looking for other ideas if anyone has them? Kid friendly, of course! TIA!

I don't have the recipe, but I know that Giada (Giada at Home) made homeade peanut butter granola bars... if DC is old enough for peanuts and not allergic of course Chat Icon You could do a search on the food network.

I've been making my 12 month old daughter zucchini bread w/ whole wheat flour. She loves it and the recipe makes two small loaves - I use one and freeze one. Can also make banana bread. She goes to daycare everyday with a slice of homemade zucchini bread and yogurt.

Here are a few suggestions from my William Sonoma baby cook book. They have all different recipes for different age groups. I don't want to write every recipe down, so just let me know which ones you want and I will FM you the ingredients and recipe.

1. Carrot Cupcakes (They look really good)
2. Pumpkin Pancakes
3.Rice Pudding
4.Weekend Waffles
5.Dried-apricot Oatcakes
6.Cranberry-Orange Scones
7. Frittata
8.Buckwheat Crepes
9.Blackberry and Ricotta Parfait

These are mostly made for young toddlers, but they look pretty darn good.

Yay! I knew you girls would give me great suggestions! I didn't even think of the zucchini bread and banana bread. mmm. Ok, I am definitely doing those. I am trying to make stuff I can either freeze or store for a bit, so these are all great ideas! As for the banana muffins, this is the recipe I used:

2 medium bananas, mashed
1/3 c milk
1/4 vegetable oil (I used applesauce instead, but they're a little dry)
2 cups of flour (I used whole wheat)
1/2 c packed brown sugar
1 egg
2 tsps. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cinnamon

Bake at 400 for 20-25 minutes.

The next thing I'm trying is yogurt scones.

Re: Can anyone suggest some good homemade baked goods I can make for Ava?

I just gave someone else this recipe 10 minutes ago.

Sweet Potato Cookies:

3/4 cup unsalted butter
1/2 cup sugar
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1 large egg
1 cup peeled, cooked & mashed sweet potato
1 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
3/4 cup rolled oats
1 cup raisins

Preheat oven 350°

With hand held mixer, mix butter & sugars until well blended. Add egg & sweet potato and stir well by hand. Add all the other ingredients & stir.

Place parhcment paper on cookie sheet. Drop teaspoon size drops of cookie dough onto the parchment paper.

Bake 10-12 minutes. Remove from oven and allow to cool on cookie sheet.
