Can dogs tell if you are pregnant?
My DH is away on business and I am newly pregnant.
Charlie is following me around everywhere, he is not pulling on the leash at all (he usually struggles for the beginning of our walks), and he has been sleeping with his head on my belly. (to warm the baby maybe?  )
When I getup to go to the bathroom I come out and his back is to the door and he is sitting there as if to guard it.
Did anyone else ever notice this? I love this little guy so much more right now!

I know my Golden did and so did my SIL's Golden - honestly, I think they knew before I did, but I didn't realize it until a couple of weeks later.
Also when I was a couple of weeks along, my dog started sleeping on my side of the bed (she never did that before, she was always on Dh's side)

First off, Congratulations!!!!! 
Secondly, yes they do sense it. I wouldn't be surprised if when DH comes back your dog becomes protective of you.

Supposedly you give off a different scent to them when your pregnant, due to the hormones.
I definitley think Dottie knows, as she's done a lot of the same things your dog is doing.

Dh swears we conceived the night I was laying on the floor with my legs and butt up in the air after BD'ing  and Murray came over and put his head on my shoulder. Also my cat did something strange too but i cant remember now

mine can't!  He's still the pain in the a*s he's always been and still thinks everything revolves around him!

Yes my dogs have ben up my azzz since I got PG. Following me everywhere more so than before. One of my dogs was sniffing my belly the other day.
Interesting story, ny friend was PG with twins. Her dog woke her up at 7 am whining and turning in circles. She walked down to let him out, he stood outside and barked. She walked back upstairs to get back in bed and her water broke. She was 29 weeks. Her babies are fine now but it was strange and he definitely knew something was up.
