Can I ask a dumb question about GFE's...
I always thought you got your good faith estimate from the bank/broker.....does your attorney give you one too? I'm confused.

Our bank gave us one. Our lawyer said that he will call us a day or two before closing to give us the final closing cost so we know how much to make the check out for.

Geez...two days before.....thats cutting it close....doesn't it make you nauseous....or am I just a worry wort? What costs were included on your banks GFE....Can you FM if you wouldn't mind.

When we were preapproved, our banker warned us what closing costs would be around.
Our Lawyer was the one who gave us the real GFE

yeah, my sister found out the morning of her closing what her actual costs would be - talk about cutting it close! Right now we are set to close on a MOnday afternoon, so I'm hoping to know by the Friday before what our costs will be.

I will top that -- we found out halfway through the closing what the closing costs would be and they were around 2k more than we anticipated!
