Can I barge in? Passport q? for your DC
For those of you who got a passport for your DC, what did you need & how long did it take to get it? My family in England is anxious for me to take a trip as soon as the baby has all vaccinations & I was wondering if that is too soon to expect a passport to be available & ready?
TIA

All I needed for DS passport was his birth certificate and a notarized letter from DH stating it was ok for me to get it for him (since DH was not there when I applied)

You need a birth certificate and 2 parents with IDs present or a notarized letter from DH stating it is OK to get a passport (there is a form to have him fill out and notarize) you also need 2 passport photos on a white background (Our post office took them for us and we paid them to do it but you can go to CVS or somewhere cheaper too!) you also need to bring cash for the most part they only take credit cards for a small amount of the application fee. The passport can take 6-8weeks to receive. When I changed my name on my passport it took over a month just to get an added page to my old passport with my married name-so give ample time!

I applied for mine in mid January and am still waiting but I did see they cashed my checks. I think the girls above covered what you need to get the passport - birth certificate, parent id, both parents or notarized letter if one can't be there, application, application fees and 2 passport photos.

Dh and I went to the postal office with Alex and filled out her passport then and there. We paid the fee for expedited service and the passport arrived within one week.

Us too. DH and I went together to get Jeremy's passport and we paid extra to have the picture taken there.
