can i do anything for mucusy cough (8 months old)?
ds has this aweful mucusy cough and he keeps throwing up from it. he's been hacking in his crib too. his nose is not stuffy or runny, it's just stuck in the back of his throat. is there anything i can do for him??? (he's only 8 months).

cool mist humidifier...
Vicks on soles of his feet and also on chest.
Maybe have the ped check him out.
Is it a croupy barking cough? Or more like a cold cough?
eta- suction his nose a LOT and use saline to make the mucus soft and easier to swallow and come out his nose.

Run a hot shower and just let your dc sit in the bathroom so she breaths in the steam. That always helps my dd

hmmm, would that work if the mucus is only in his throat? his nose is dry.
we went to the dr. this morning and all he said was "something is a brewing", thanks buddy!
i've been doing the vicks and humidifier. it's like there is phlem stuck in his throat and he keeps choking on it and throwing it up.
 my poor little man.

Did the Dr give you any meds?
Is he wheezing or just coughing?
When Troy was sick right after XMas, he took antibiotics for 5 days, then had this crazy cough, much like you are describing. We went back to Dr and he put Troy on Albeuterol (mostly b/c he was wheezing).

nope no meds and thank God, no wheezing.

cadi just had this for the last 3 days and a fever... we have been giving her meds from the dr and they are helping a lot... but at night we give her a bath actually in the J&J vapor bath. and that seemed to help her A LOT
