Can I do CIO for a 1 year old?
We tried at 8 months and failed miserably. She knew how to stand and she threw up once too. So, we gave up.
She's been co-sleeping with us. So, it'd be crib and CIO? Is that too much? What do you guys suggest?
I haven't slept through the night since May 2006!!!

We moved DD to her new crib, stopped breast feeding her to sleep and did CIO all while she was teething. It has helped so much. I would try again.

Re: Can I do CIO for a 1 year old?
Did I mention the fact that DD is sooooooooooooooo stubborn? She always have to have her way. And everyone spoils her!
When we tried at 8m, she would cry for well over an hour, with no signs of lettign up at all.
And she is always itchy (allergies), so she's constantly scratching all over her body. Leave her alone and she starts clawing at her face. How am I supposed to deal with this?

I don't think it's too late but you should do whatever you are going to do soon. Maybe you want to try the book, "Good Night, Sleep Tight" by Kim West. I used her strategies and they were a little gentler than CIO but not without tears. I like her approach better than all out CIO. My DD goes down with no problems now (unless she's not feeling well like the past couple of days). And we were also a co-sleeping family for about 4 months.
