Can I do free weights/resistance training every day
If I split up my muscle groups? If I do arms, chest, back one day and legs and butt the other day, is this okay?

Yes, it's ok. So you meant on consecutive days not every day of the week right? Your body does need a rest day or two.

So I mean on MWF do arms and TTH do legs, and on the weekend rest.

YUP! that's actually a great plan, just make sure you're warming up and cooling down/stretching every time you do
