Can I get some name advice?
We have not been telling anyone IRL our name choices for DS but DH and I have come to a standstill and could use some input. We don't like super common names and please read the reasoning for each before deciding. We have a 9 letter Polish last name but I am majorly Irish and would like some Irish influence in the name as would DH. Middle name will likely be Connolly (dh's grandmothers maiden name).
Thanks for your help!
1. CARTER: just a name dh and I both like, has no reaj meaning or significance
2. CAVAN: what I always said I would name my son for years after where my grandmother is from in Ireland. Dh also likes. Somewhat concerned he'll always be called Gavin since that name is now so popular right now or that people will think he is named after my FIL Kevin (which I would prefer not)
3. BRAEDAN: a name we both like. We would use this 'dan' spelling to honor my grandfather Daniel. Still a nod to my irish roots and could use the nickname Brady.
Please let me know your thoughts and if possible why you would choose one over another.

When choosing a name I think it's important to make it so that your child does not have to spell his name out everytime...
I had a unique first name myself and end up changing it entirely 'cus I was so tired of spelling it out to every single new person I met.
Braedan is pretty uncommon and sounds good with the middle name. I like that most, but I would make the spelling Braden.
It does sound like Cayden and Aiden which is becoming very popular lately...
Carter is also not too common but not sure how it sounds combining the middle name and last name...

It's up to you but try to sound out the full name and see what rolls off the tongue better.

I picked Braedan and am obviously biased bc it's my sons name and similar spelling. Braeden and we call him Brady as well. My Irish husband picked it and that was the only spelling he considered.
I love all the names but Braeden's my Fave !! Just be aware if you pick it for some reason, a lot of people will call him Brandon !!!!! Thats what happens to us.

I love Braeden. I think it is a great strong name.
I have come to the conclusion that no matter what people will always find a way to "mess up" a name. DH name is super-easy & common & it is constantly misspelled.

Braeden gets my vote. Not too common, it's a great way to honor your heritage and it sounds really nice with Connolly.

I'm voting for Braedan Connelly too, because I think it sounds the best together. I don't think you should worry too much about the spelling. Those who will love him will learn to spell his name correctly. I have a unique spelling as well, and sometimes it got annoying when people spelled it wrong, but it's just something you deal with. I wouldn't want my name spelled the same common way other people spell it.

i like them all, but voted for Cavan. I really do like it and it seems like it means the most to you which i think is most important in a name. If you love it and if it's meaning is important to you than that's what counts. it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks - just you and your DH.
