What Kristin said.... Kristina loves it, and now I actually give the the Barilla Plus pastas - I just break up the larger noodles.

I have been putting off giving him foods other then pureed. I am nervous he wll choke. Up until last week, I was still pureeing his fruit in the blender. But then realized he has to eat more textured foods(getting his fifth tooth).

LOL - I make a couple of tablespoons at a time, but I make it differently than the box says.
I have frozen cubes of stock in the freezer, and I mix that with some water. When that comes to a rolling boil, I put in a couple of tablespoons of pastina, a scrape of butter, a little bit of formula, and some shredded parm cheese and just let it boil down to nothing.
The pastina comes out nice and soft, and it has the flavor of that liquid mix alllllll in it!

Def going to Pathmark tomorrow to get Pastina, chicken stock and hamburger meat. He will thank you!! Start slow he needs to develop his motor skills (moving food w/tongue, chewing, pushing the food back & swallowing) Before you know it he will have a fork and knife in hands pounding on the table for more!

Give him time... It may take him a minute to catch on to the whole consistency thing....
I know that when I first started with Kristina and Pastina... it was a rough patch. She was constantly gagging. but, we went on. day after day, and finally she got it! now she gets excited when I tell her mommy made her stars.

Make sure not to make it dry at first, he will gag. Mix it with some chicken broth.

Re: Can I give Pastina to my ten month old?
My DS was fully on table foods at that point. The thing that helped me with giving table foods was taking an Infant CPR class - it reduced my fears about him choking -- don't get me wrong if he gags on something I still have a heartattack - but at least I feel I know what to do in case of an emergency!

Re: Can I give Pastina to my ten month old?
DD never like the texture of pastina. I tried regular pasta at that age and she loves it.
