Re: Can I paint?
DH painted the baby's room this weekend and kept the door shut but some of the fumes came down the hall and made me soooo sick and get a bad headache. I dont think its good to breathe in the fumes.

Re: Can I paint?
My doctor said latex paint is fine to be around, but I was overly cautious and stayed at my mom's when the nursery was being painted.

Re: Can I paint?
I just got one of those emails from the baby center that said painting is definitely something to stay away from, especially lead based paints (are they still even around?)
if you absolutely have to paint, make sure all the windows etc. are open and u have a fan on and I would also wear a mask too! they also said to wear gloves and to cover your skin so it doesnt get paint on it.... in other words, i think its best to avoid if you can! HTH

Re: Can I paint?
I don't have to paint....DH said I couldn't, but I thought I would check with the experts. There is so much to do....I guess he will have to manage!
Thanks much!

Re: Can I paint?
Certain paints you shouldn't be around, and even with the "safe" ones, you should keep the room well ventilated.

Re: Can I paint?
Latex Paint is safe! It is water based. We are always renovating something around the house (even in these last 9 months) and we use Latex with proper ventilation of course and I am fine! I even helped out a bit here and there

Re: Can I paint?
My office was painted last week, I stayed through the whole thing, it was Benjamin Moore paint, not industrial paints or anything .... is this something I should now worry about?

I agree. I would not risk it. DH primed the baby's room this past weekend, even with all the windows open I still did not stick around the house.

Re: Can I paint?
When DH painted the nursery I helped out by doing the edges and the mouldings. Dh is not good at that! I kept the windows open and the fan on to make sure it was well ventilated.
