My grandmother is 82 and was diagnosed with breast cancer a few months ago. She decided to go forward with a mastectomy and had the surgery last week. She was feeling good and everything seemed to be ok. Yesterday she had several mini-strokes and is now back in the hospital. The dr's said this is not uncommon is older stage-4 cancer patients. They said the damage (she had some slurred speech, a sluggish eye and weakness in her one side) are all irreversible. They saw 2 spots on her brain but they need to do more testing to determine if the cancer has spread as well. She is 82 and before this was never ill and was healthy and a fire ball for such a little peanut. It's just very upsetting to think after all these years, the end is going to be like this for her. We know it is only a matter of time...the dr's gave her a couple of years...but now with these new problems we just dont know
Re: Can I pls. have some prayers for my grandmother?
Prayers for you and your Grandma!
I have to tell you my Grandma had several strokes in November...a few minor ones and then a massive one. We thought she would never recover from the massive one. She was blind in one eye, her speech was inaudible and she was paralyzed on one side of her body. As of today she can see, her speech is totally coherant and even though she still remains paraylzed on one side there are signs of movement! Don't lose hope!!!
