********* Can I put this over a dining room table??!!!!
Im worried that the bulbs being exposed will be bothersome to people eating at the table!
Does anyone else have a similar fixture above their dining room table?
My wall color is adagio by the way (bluish gray) and dining set is dark brown! Image Attachment(s):

I like it but I would only put something like that over a long rectangular or oblong table.

We have a fixture like that and just use a dimmer when we don't want to so bright.  
(excuse the seafoam green trim - it has since been painted brown  )

You definitely can put it over a DR table...
I didn't want people to look up and see bulbs, but it's all personal pref.

Depending on the size of it, it looks like it may be more suitable over an island to me.

My Mom has something similar over the kitchen table (it's a 3 bulb Tiffany Glass type thing) and me, my sister and my Dad can not STAND it -

I have a similar fixture with three bulbs facing down. It's over a rectangular table and I love the way it looks. We use the energy saver bulbs and they're a bit dimmer.
