I know I read that this is fine but the milk looks "filmy to me" film on the bottle and around the ridges. Is this normal? Also, this will be his first bottle feed- should I pump fresh milk or does it not matter?
Finally is warming an a warm bowl of water enough or do i need to heat on stove? TIA

totally normal - the fats separate. Warming it in a bowl of warm water is a good way to go.

Totally normal...remember that our milk is not "processed" like the milk we buy in the supermarket so the fat will separate. Just swirl it around in the bottle to re-mix and warm it under warm water (and shake until it is evenly warmed) and you are good to go.
You can give this as the first for the day.

If you pumped it yesterday & refridgerated it immediately, yes it's fine.
I would NOT heat it on the stove. Warm bowl of water should be fine.
