Can I vent about family too?

*SIGH* I am SO sick and tired of keeping it in.....

First off....both sides of our family knows our situation and NO one from DH side even OFFERS any kind of help....yea I know they are far away....but they could clip coupons, offer recipes, ask if the baby needs anything. Do they....NOOOOO.

2ndly: One SIL sells on Ebay....she goes around thrifting and finds Fisher Price, Little Tykes, etc. toys, cleans them up and sells them. She had a LOT of Baby Einstein toys.....

do you THINK she even ASKED us if Aly could use some new toys? NOOO....I would have even PAID her the price she paid at the thrift stores for them so she wouldn't be out the money. So I bid on them. Didn't win them cuz I didn't feel like paying $25 for them....

UGH.....

I hate thoughtless people...especially when it's family, it makes it 10x worse! I'm sorry Chat Icon

Maybe you should mention in passing about the toys - maybe then she'll get the hint!

Re: Can I vent about family too?

I can relate! My SIL lives 15-20 minutes away. Our babies are 5 weeks apart. My mom would have family dinners like once a month and that is when we would see each other and when I would get to see my nephew. About two months ago she told my mom she didnt want to keep doing that because if Sydney is there then her baby is not special!!!!! I couldn't believe it. My brother is such a wuss and just does what she says so we havent seen each other since then. He told me that he would call yesterday and maybe stop by and then while I was at work he called my dh and said that they had to go to one of her friends house for a BBQ...meanwhile he was 5 minutes from my house....he couldnt stop by and see his niece! I dont know what to do about this monster my brother married!

i'm quite sure your mom would treat both of her grandchildren the same. does your sil want her child to be the center of attention

Re: Can I vent about family too?

I am very sorry. I don't know the exact situation you are in but your families should be more supportive.
You should NOT bid on toys your SIL is selling. That is insane. Can you call her and say "would you mind keeping an eye out for XX. I would really like when for the baby but can't afford to pay full-price. Of course, I will pay you what the item costs you."
See what she says. Sometimes we have to ask people for help when we need it.,
Hugs.
