Can I vent for a second, please?
I need to vent about my husband for a minute. And I am feeling guilty for even wanting to vent about him when he's so wonderful and does such a wonderful job at being a hubby and a father, but I'm just feeling majorly annoyed. Ava's had this virus since last week, and now I'm sick, too. I am so achey that I can barely move. I asked him to stay home tonight and take a personal or a sick day since they hardly have any work to do on Mondays. His response was, "I can't do that because I've made it a personal goal to never miss a day of work." What the F does that mean? His personal goal? Everyone else in his department thinks nothing of it to call out sick at the last moment, causing everyone else to have to work 12 hours days, but my hubby can't take one night off for a freaking personal goal to have perfect attendance? The reward for perfect attendance is one day's pay. Who effing cares about one day's pay? I don't! I think it's just an excuse to get away for a few hours, and that's fine, I know going to work is relaxing for him after taking care of the baby all day, but still. I feel like sh-t and the baby is miserable, too, and I really could have used his help tonight. Not to mention, I'm spending my birthday alone Thanks. vent over.

I'm sorry. I hope you feel better. Cuddle up with a blankie and some hot tea and since Ava is feeling crummy too, maybe she would love the cuddle time with you.
Is that wishful thinking?

With a family, sometimes personal goals have to be put aside. Yes, I would be annoyed if my hubby didn't stay home. This actually happened last month. I had the stomach flu for my birthday and asked Dh to stay home. He did plus he's his own boss so he doesn't get "paid" sick days. If he's not there, no one is making money.

And Happy birthday. I too know what it's like to spend my birthday alone. Tonight is DH's birthday and he gets off for his birthday so he is not alone but he works on mine so I am alone.
