Can I wear boots even if I'm short and not super skinny? UPDATED
I feel like boots look great on tall, thin, women and I don't know if I can pull off the look. I know I just need to try them on, but I was just wondering if there were any other shorter women who wear boots. (I'm 5'4")
How high should the boots go? All the way to my knees? And if I get a pair, do I need to get skinny jeans to fit inside them?

I tried on these boots from Cole Haan today and I love them! They had to order my size and have them shipped to me. I can't wait to get them.
Now I need skinny jeans...

I'd be very careful what you put on top, you need to elongate your torso, otherwise you will look small and heavier. Darker jeans, black high boots, right below the knee, I ften wear high boots with heels too it helps

I am not skinny and bought two pairs at Payless just in case I wasn't loving them and I LIVE in mine.

You should try on all types of boots to see what you like. I'm 5'4-5'5 and I wear em all! Booties, mid calf, tall, over th knee, combat everything.

You can wear whatever you want - you ahve to be comfortable in your outfit -
As a general rule, at 5'2" I don't wear high boots b/c MY legs are not skinny, and I don't think those boots do me any favors -

I agree. I'm 5'2 and a solid size 8. It's a look I can't pull off unfortunately...

DH bought me very similar boots for Christmas. I thought I was too short to wear them (I'm 5'3), but then I got some skinny jeans and leggings and they look great!
I think the key is, don't go too long with your tops because then your legs disappear. The longest sweater I have just covers my tush.
