Can my 7.5mo old DS have mashed potatoes with milk and butter in it?

My dad makes the best mashed potatoes, and I'd love to have my DS taste them on Easter Sunday. He's run through all the Stage 1 and 2 Gerber foods and has had avocado, but that's it for foods I've made him.

Can I give my DS mashed potatoes with milk and butter mixed into them? The consistency is perfect for him, so I was planning on making him his own separate batch with much less butter and no salt, but I'm worried about the milk and butter.

Can I give him a taste of ice cream?

Can I give him a little piece of his hollow chocolate bunny to melt in his mouth?

I know... they're all not the healthiest, but for Easter, I just wanted to let him try some "goodies".

I gave my boys mashed potatos on St. Paddys day and they LOVED it! They ARE a 1/4 Irish They both survived !

I wouldn't do the chocolate, but the mashed potatoes should be perfectly fine. Ice cream should be OK as well- is he on a milk-based formula?

i wouldnt do chocolate but vanilla ice cream should be fine

I think Mashed Potatoes would be fine.
I would skip the ice cream and chocolate though. Not sure if that would upset his stomach.

I would say yes to the mashed potatoes but just make sure there isn't a lot of salt in them. Maybe a little taste of vanilla ice cream but I wouldn't do chocolate just yet.

I haven't done potatoes but I have done ice cream and cake. He lived. And smiled and giggled while he ate it.

DS is 11 months and he loves mashed potatoes with milk and a tiny bit of butter. DS hasn't had chocolate or ice cream yet but that's because we are not big sweet eaters and it is never in our house. If ice cream was available at a party I would let him try some.

yes to all, mashed potatoes with milk and butter, ice-cream, both vanilla and chocolate, and my DD had chocolate early on as well... about 6-7 months. but with the chocolate it was only during christmas, easter, not an everyday thing.. before a year old

Yes to the potatos and ice cream but I wouldn't give hard chocolate yet.

I gave DD tastes of everything as soon as we started solids. I mean everything: cake, ice creams, drinks, fruits etc. Anything I had, she got to taste.

believe me, he will live through a little mashed potatoes and choc ice cream! give it to him! he will certainly enjoy it, and it will be fun for you to see him enjoy it too! no harm in it at all. just don't go crazy lol
