Can someone give me the scoop about Black Friday?

Specifically for electronic stores like BestBuy or Circuit City?

Hubby and I are interested in purchasing a TV and a new laptop & desktop computer....everyone tells me to wait for Black Friday, but I've heard you have to wait in line at like 3am????

I'm willing to do it - but want to hear directly from someone that's done this...

imo, not worth it. in most cases, you can get the same deals Wednesday night.

I just finished reading an article in Newsday that quoted some consumer experts saying that the deals are either out there now or will be available the week after Thanksgiving - due to a poor Fall shopping season and bad housing market.

not sure if it's 100% true... all I know is that I wouldn't get out of bed at 3am for a laptop even if it was $1

I have done it. The laptop I am typing on now I got on black friday for 399 a few years ago. You really have to know the ads. Plus you have to be there a lot earlier than 3. I went at 1:30. I actually love shopping on black friday. I think its an adrenaline rush. Its like my drug LOL But...this year it doesn't seem so great! check out www.bfads.net for the ads.

I've tried to do it in the past and I never seem to get them...its crazy long lines and people really sleep out there waiting!

You can also shop on line. Most stores have their sales Thanksgiving eve or after midnight on line

We went to a few stores last year. I got my Casio digital camera and we bought some things at Linens and things, but we didnt go till late morning and we still got everything we wanted.
