Can someone please help me pick a PNP or playard?

My decision-making skills have run out on this one...I like some but they are expensive and I don't know if I should bother getting one with the changing table on top or not, etc....Please feel free to post yours and recommend one for this clueless first-time mother Chat Icon

Re: Can someone please help me pick a PNP or playard?

I am a first time clueless mother, but just this morning I was looking at these online. I decided I definetely want a changing table. The nursery & bedrooms are upstairs, but we are always downstairs and that will be where the PNP will be.

Re: Can someone please help me pick a PNP or playard?

I think it really depends on what you will be using it for - for me I wanted one with the changing table and bassinet that I could use for the baby the first few months - I'm trying to decide between the Graco one with the mobile or the one that has storage underneath. These are the two I have narrowed it down to. Hope this helps

I got the rainforest PNP. It has good reviews.

It comes with the changing station.

We got one with a changing table on top - although when we plan to use it in our bedroom we won't use the changing table. When we are out of the house I could see it being really helpful - in our situration. The cool thing is that it snaps on and off really easy so it's nice to have it for an option.

Re: Can someone please help me pick a PNP or playard?

I think i am registering for the same one as itsbabytime - the graco in the milan pattern - either that pattern or the g galore.... i want it to have the changing table - because our bedroom is upstairs and the pack and play will be on the lower level --- so i dont want to have to go upstairs to thebedroom each time to change the baby

I got the Graco one posted with the changing table on top (and the storage on the bottom.) I plan on keeping it on my first floor in my office so that will really be our changing area down here.

Re: Can someone please help me pick a PNP or playard?

As a BTDT mom, it really depends what you will be using it for...Think about these things..

Are you getting a separate bassinet for the baby to use?

Do you have a bi level house where you would need a changing station downstairs that you couldn't just use the one in baby's room?

Do you travel overnight alot, or will you be going to IL's or parents alot where baby would need a place to sleep?

Do you have the room to accomodate one?

Honestly I don't think PNP are a necessity, they def make life easier.

I used the bassinet/changing table feature for a good 4-5 months in my lvg room cause i have a bi level house, it was a lifesaver for not going up and down the stairs. But now, it's packed away, and i find it easier to go up and down then have that thing taking up so much space.

I only use my PNP now to put Gianna in when I need to take a shower and i need her to be in safe place.

When #2 comes it goes back to bassinet/changing table and will stay in our bedroom til #2 goes into her crib around 6-8 weeks old.

Michele, this is what I originally thought. We do have two floors but it's not a big house at all. Thanks for your input, I will give it some more thought. I really could use more space and not extra pieces. Chat Icon

For me I am using this to save space - we only have a 1br apt so we will keep in in our room and use it as the babies bassinet and changing table for the first two months or so. But like another poster said - if you are getting a bassinet and changing table already you might not need to duplicate all this except for convenience.

We registered for the Graco-Devon pattern. Although we have a small place, we plan on using it for the first few months of his life. It has the changing table and bassinet. This is where he'll be most of the time, either in our room or traveling for the holidays.
