Can someone pls. help, I have an ebay question..

I haven't used e-bay alot, but I am looking a curling iron for a gift the instyler. There are people bidding on them OVER $80.00 but then there are a few others on the site with the buy now option for $80.00, is there a catch, am I missing something? why are they bidding over the buy now cost?

thanks all !

Check the shipping costs between the two auctions.

Maybe they didn't see the other auctions, put in a max bid before the other auctions went up or one seller may have better feedback.

who knows. people sometimes get caught up with the bidding and what not on ebay.

ok, thanks they both are free shipping, I was thinking I missed something there! Chat Icon If they are all going for the same price, I might as well go to the buy now and skip all the competition !

This is exactly what happens. A person may put it a bid at $60, thinking they'll get the item for less and then they get outbid and think "what's a few more dollars?" and before they know it they're paying more than the wanted or had to. I've seen it happen a lot Chat Icon
