Do you like BBQ? Virgil's is family friendly. Most places in Times Square are family friendly.

Re: can someone post family friendly restaurants on long island and NYC
thanks ladies!!!! Some of the restaurants here on LI are not baby accesable (sp) and they dont even have a changing table in the restroom. So I was wondering if there are some nice places ( not diner like) that were kid friendly.
Does anyone remember about 2 months ago one of the news stations did a type of shame on you in the city restaurants, moms were being told NO children allowed. I wish I could remember what channel it was so I can look it up. and Im so sick of people giving me dirty looks when I am using the stroller. what else am I suppose to do
DD never and I mean never cries so taking her out is no problem.
I went to Bertucci's during the day or early dinner and only during the week and they were nice about it.

Re: can someone post family friendly restaurants on long island and NYC
I think there are few exceptions to every restaurant being family friendly Monday through Friday. With an infant, weekends open up too.
Here are the non-kid friendly places that worked for us on the weekend:
NYC: Churrascaria Plataforma - on the expensive side but excellent for meat lovers. Where else could you see waiters walking around with slabs of food & knives that look like swords. My pirate-loving son was smitten.
Marc Joseph Steakhouse - excellent steakhouse. During the summer, NYC restaurants are usually family-friendly.
LI: La Villini - Italian restaurant in East Northport. Very family friendly - all of the time.
Cooke's Inn - bad decor, good Southern cooking. Kids are welcome.

My sixth grade teacher owns Cooke's inn.
To add to the list - Baja Grill - East Northport & Smithtown

Very good food! The woman that opened this place (Mrs. Cooke) was my daughter's 6th grade teacher. When she retired from teaching she opened the restaurant.
