can someone reccomend a wood floor refinisher person??
I need my wood floors sanded and finished......I dont know who to call

I used Aliperti & Son (and was completely thrilled with the results and their professionalism) and it was $2.50/square foot. If you want a stain (which we did in one room) it's an additional $1/square foot. Steps were $25/step and an additional $10 if they are stained. I opted for a semi-gloss finish b/c I'm not a fan of the hi-gloss look...I like to see the grains.

we used Unique Floors (in Ronkonkoma) and plan on using them again when we have the kitchen floors redone.

We used these guys, and would use them again:
Ultra Floor Specialists 2091 Grand Avenue Baldwin, NY 11510 (516) 223-0828
Whoever you use, try to get them to do one more coat than they offer. If they try to sell you 1 coat, get them to throw in 2 coats. If they try to sell you 2 coats, get them to throw in a 3rd, etc.
Also, learn the difference between silk and satin floor coats.
