Can the Dr. tell how big..

The baby will be just by feeling the outside of your belly? My office doesn't do growth sonograms..But I am curious how much my peanut weighs at this point. ...Anyone?? Iam 32 1/2 wks

They can guess but are often wrong. I've had friends who were told up to 2 lbs more or less than the baby actually was!

At 36 weeks my doctor felt from the outside and guessed 5.5 lbs at that point. With them gaining approx 1 lbs/every 2 weeks she be close to 7lbs now. I think she is coming soon, so we'll see if they were right!

He can get an idea by measuring your belly which is when they use a measure tape from the top of your uterus to right above your pubic bone. It's not super accurate but then again growth sonograms aren't either.

6 days before I had DS I asked my doctor to guess how big DS was..After manipulation of my big belly he said 7lbs 1oz..DS was 7lbs 11oz but that was almost a week later..so Im gonna say he was about right.

my Dr guessed my DS was about 9lbs, which was what the growth sonos said after she made her prediction, DS was actually 9lb 14oz. Even my OB was surprised!
