Can the IUI cycle be canceled?
I am on my 12 shot of Lupron today and I have still not started AF Usually AF arrives between 32 to 35 days. CD 32 was Friday and CD 35 was yesterday and still not AF I never wanted AF to come so badly
I have done the research and I am aware that Lupron can delay your AF by a couple of days...so I guess two more days and I have to see. It is so difficult to wait
I have to call Dr. R today so he can tell me what to do. He instructed me to call him if AF was not here by this morning. I have been getting the usual AF cramping for two days now; every time I feel them, I run to the bathroom with a pad in hand just to be disappointed because no AF
So, my question is....for those of you who had also taken Lupron.......
HOW MANY DAYS WERE YOU ON LUPRON BEFORE AF ARRIVED?
IF YOUR AF WAS DELAYED----HOW MANY DAYS WAS YOUR AF DELAYED FOR?
Did you have to stop Lupron for AF to come?
If AF didn't come at all what can be done?
and most importantly......CAN THE CYCLE BE CANCELED BECAUSE OF IT??? AHHHHH!!!
Just trying to calm myself down......ahhhhhh!!!

Re: 12th shot of Lupron and still no AF
The first time I used Lupron it took me a full 14 days. Try not to stress as that may only delay things further.

Re: Can the IUI cycle be canceled?
I typically have a 29 day cycle and the three times I have been on Lupron I was about 2 days late. If I remember correctly, it is a considered a withdrawal bleed and not everyone gets it. I do not think this would be a reason to cancel a cycle, only postpone starting the stims for a bit. Good luck!

Re: Can the IUI cycle be canceled?
i havent done lupron but i do know it delays your cycle. you really shouldnt even judge your regular cycle length against when you should get AF once you are on meds. meds change everything. unfortunately, as with everything in infertility, you'll just have to wait it out. i dont see why your IUI would be cancelled. at most your cycle would just be delayed until your body is ready.
out of pure curiousity - if you are doing an IUI cycle why did they start you on lupron first?? that seems out of the ordinary so im just curious. thanks!
good luck!

I was on Lupron as well during an IUI cycle. Dr B said that, for women in my case - with high FSH, the body tends to produce a follicle ealier that usual and that way you can get a leading follicle before you even start stimming Lupron, when started before your stimulation cycle suppresses your system and quiets down your ovaries until they are stimulated by the injectables.

Thanks Unfortunately, today is day 13th day of the Lupron shot and cd37 and AF not here, so Dr. R wants me to go in on Friday morning to see what is going on. I guess I still have one more day for AF to come before Friday. Hopefully it will
I ovulate on my own and have a high FHS, so Dr. R started me on Lupron
