Can the OB give gender guess at 12 weeks??
DH and i are curious if the OB will be able to guess the gender of the baby at the 12 weeks appointment or if that is way too early??

Some technicians are willing to guess at that point, but it can be very hard to distinguish between girls and boys at that point. Even if the technician took a guess, I wouldn't start painting the nursery or buying gender specific items yet.

Exactly, it's difficult to be 100% accurate that early, so def. don't go painting yet.

Mine would not.
But then I was able to find out at around 16 weeks.
I see high risk and there sono machine is very advanced and clear.

I don't know about 12 weeks, but we found out at 14.
ETA: I saw a high risk OB like the PP and had high tech sono done.

I think they CAN take a guess, but generally won't unless they are 100% sure, which is rare. I think they don't want to excite/depress people when there is a chance they are wrong.

They can take a guess but I wouldn't rely on it. The genitalia form in the exact same way and differentiation doesn't occur until 15-16 weeks.
So basically it would be a guess!

Mine did. She said she was 80% sure we were having a girl. That was confirmed at 16 weeks. :)

Our technician did guess at 12 weeks. She thought boy. We don't know if she is right yet.
