Can we please talk about the GOOD things about 2-3 year olds?

Because honestly, youre all scaring the hel l out of me for TTC #2! Chat Icon

I know every age has pros and cons so tell me what the good things are having an older toddler.

I really want more kids, 2 or 3 more. I could handle what ive already been through - the 1st year. The future makes me nervous. All I hear are the temper tantrums and the defiance. There must be positive too right? More independence? More communication? Please help me feel better about having more kids!

eta: I know having more will just be harder, potty training with a newborn, etc. but just humor me then!

Nothing will beat my daughers coming up to me and taking my face with their two little hands and kissing me and hugging me. It is heaven.

Also, playing tea party and them talking to their animals like they are people. Or them telling me to lay down because they want to be the dr.

The girls going up to each other and hugging and kissing each other. I just sit back and watch with a tear in my eye. I never could imagine how much I could love two things.

Yes, the tantrums and fighting can become overwhelming, but the hugs and kisses outweight it all.

There is so much good. Honestly.

They are funny as helll. Today he told me "Calm down Mommy or you go in a time out" and then started cracking up.

They think they actually are the boss (although they kinda are Chat Icon ) "You go to the store and buy me Woody, Buzz, and lots of fruit...apples, strawberries, pears, and get Tyler Bananas!" ummm ok!

They think they are master negotiators "No, you don't give me 5 cookies when I get dressed. You give me THREE cookies" --- Ohhh sure. Three cookies boss. You've got it!

The love. It just gets bigger, I swear.

The way Jack says "I love you Mommy. Sweet dreams" -- that right there erases every single tantrum that he had during the day.

My daughter is 26 mths. I think she is a dream. Sure, she has her moments. But, i think she is a really easy toddler. She is so much fun, so sweet, getting so smart. She rocks my world every day! She was much harder between 12 and 15/16 months than she is now. Now she listens much more, understands much more, can talk and have a conversation.

I wish my maternity leave was now rather than when he was a baby( He is 2 years 5 months.) I love spending time with DS now. . . I love our conversations. I love watching his play skills and imagination emerge. I love when he is proud of himself and happy with himself. I love when he says "I love you mommy" . . . SO much I love about 2 year olds. I much rather now than before!

DS is really a very good boy. He has his moments - and I keep the house well stocked with wine and beer Chat Icon - but he is SO funny and sweet and says the most amazing, hysterical, thoughtful, kind things... and he is an insanely good big brother! He only ever gets mad when she tries to play with a toy that he wants - even if it's hers. Time outs solve just about every problem. He won't stay in time-out so put him in an empty pack and play!

I really enjoy playing with him and I have gotten really good at ignoring (most of) the whining. He is just sooooo much fun to be around, and it really makes me look forward to when DD (11 months) is walking and talking too!
