We liike Mystic & Boston- they are both good jumping off spots- you can stay there for a reasonable price and then take day trips to Cape Cod, Newport, etc.

We loved oqunquit, maine. It was super cheap. The hotel (more like a motel) was cheap. We went to the beach for free. Everything we did was free except eating.

where do you stay in Mystic? Can you recommend a hotel that's close to everything including the aquarium?

We stayed outside of Newport, but only like a 10 minute drive, and the hotel was reasonably priced. I want to say a Hampton Inn? It was near the casino.

I agree, Mystic has the ships and the aquarium

Boston has a nice children's museum and kids really enjoy the swan boat rides in the park.

Philly is another short cheap trip. The Please Touch Museum and Franklin Institute are great. If you go the first weekend of the month, the please touch museum is free if you have a bank of america account. Food is yummy. I love Philly.

Sorry, cannot remember any names of places. We looked up the popular places. They are pretty easy to find.

We went last yr when DS was 14-15 months old. He was just learning to run. We basically let him run around. There was a very nice trail (can't remember the name but it is pretty well known and famous). It was fenced so we could let him run and didn't have to worry about him. It was wonderful.

He also spent a lot of time in the kiddie pool.

We went to both Dutch Wonderland and Sesame Place last summer as well and I think DS had equal or more fun just running around Maine.

Great thanks so much. Will do some research and discuss with DH. Thanks for the info.
