Can we start an official "KICK THEM IN THE SHINS" thread?

The last few days have been chock full of co-workers with bad stories, and DHs with stupid comments. I say lets put them all on here & give them a virtual kick in the shins.


I'll start: co-worker today finds out I am PG. He says, Oh good I thought you were just putting on weight. Um I have not put on any weight.

Heres mine...a co-worker knew apparently a friend at work told her....

so she approached me the other day and said " Oh can I say Congrats now"...

I said " sure, its not much of a secret anymore"

She said, I knew before I heard though from ( friend) because you face is so round and pudgy now.

HUH Is that a compliment? A sign of PG??????

Wow you have gained alot of weight already, (13 pounds all belly) are you sure you are going to lose that for my wedding next year?


ummmmmmmm hello, i have 4 months to lose it and i am still in my pre preg, pants, just with them lower, not gaining crazy weight but now just watch!!!

Someone who works in the office at one of our centers..
"OOh, how are you? I need to say HI to the baby"..
OK..Ummm #1 your a whack job and #2 STOP rubbing my belly.
You are NOT my family or a friend, your a wierdo who answers the phone!
Then asks me "So, you wanna be surprised?..Umm Yes, I do Thank You..

Let's see...
Last week I got from a coworker, "OMG, your belly is getting so big. You look just like Santa Claus!"
This coworker is not a malicious person and later came up to me and apologized for the comment (on her own doing - I never said anything to her about it).

This week, I am introduced to a new staff member in the following way by another coworker:

Coworker: "Oh, L., this is so and so, she's starting next week as my replacement."

Me: "Oh, Hi, nice to meet you."

Coworker (turning to new staff member): "She's not really fat, she's just pregnant!"

Me:

Since this coworker is being transferred to another building next week, I decided not to make an issue of it.

Pretty much every time he sees me change DH says "You need to start walking. If you don't walk you're going to get diabetes." The doctor never said anything about that to me...but DH was a personal trainer and thinks he knows everything!!

Most people when I tell them how far along I am: "WOW--are you SURE you aren't futher along? You are really BIG!"

I DON'T KNOW! I AM ONLY 18 WEEKS!!!!
