Can we talk allergies?
I had them as a kid, but never as an adult, until now. It's pure misery, and unfortunately I can't take antihistamines because they make me pass out.
Any other non "antihistamine" remedies that anyone knows about, or can recommend??

Re: Can we talk allergies?
Singulair - also used to treat asthma. It is a leukotriene(sp) blocker and not an anti-histamine. It is non-sedating and very effective.

Re: Can we talk allergies?
OMG my poor DH! he was sick as a dog all weekend. he never ever gets sick and his allergies knocked him on his azz
he's been taking Claritin and Advil Cold & Sinus. the Claritin helps him when the pollen is moderate but this weekend it didn't do much to help him. I wish he would go to the Doc and get something prescribed.

Re: Can we talk allergies?
Rinse your nose with Ayr or salt water. It cleans the pollen out of your nose. You can buy Ayr at any drugstore. I use it because it has NO preservatives.

Re: Can we talk allergies?
I don't take medication for mine...
Running the clean air filter on my AC helps.
Showering after you get home from work- gets all the pollen and gunk off of your skin and hair.
Plain old saline sprays to clean your your nose.
Vacuuming a LOT.
