Can you believe DD is 7 months alreadly and still no sleeping through the night ???

What am I doing wrong..
Are youre little ones sleeping through the night my DD is still waking up 2 times a night .. And I am wondering if I am doing something wrong..

My DH says I should put cereal in the bottle but I dont really like that idea and I dont think it going to help much ..
What is youre bed time routine >?

My son did not sleep thru the night until one year old. I know, I'm not much of encouragement for you.. sorry. I never let him CIO, I always went to him, and rocked and rocked.. well finally at one year I had enuf and let him CIO. He's been sleeping thru ever since. I dont know if that is a method you are willing to try. It is hard, I tried at 5 months old and couldnt do it. Good luck.

Have you tried a warm bath with the Johnson Lavendar soap. It helps my DD, but she also sleeps with us She has been a good sleeper since she was a baby.
But maybe you should try to give her some cereal in her last bottle that way she is full and maybe that will let her sleep better.

My daughter is also 7 months old. She has been sleeping through the night since she was about 3 months.

Recently though, she wakes up around 4 in the morning. Sometimes she just plays around in her crib, other times she cries because she seems hungry. If I give her a bottle, she goes right back again.

I know her teeth have been bothering her lately too.

How many times per night does she wake up?

Yes, I do believe it. My daughter continued to wake once per night until she was 21 months old. And I did do CIO starting around 5 months, which helped with the naps and bedtime but never cut the early morning waking for an extra feeding.

So, tell DH to give you a break. That you just may be blessed with a child that isn't ready to sleep quite yet, but you'll get there!

well, we had to CIO with matthew and each night it seems to be getting easier.
He has good and bad days.
Matthew is waking up out of habit, because last night he woke up at his usual 2 am, and all he did was whine, he kept turning on his crib aquariaum and then went back down at 3 am.
He then woke up at 5 am and I knew from his cry he was hungry, and then he goes right back down.

When he wakes up, what are you doing?? feeding him?

DD is 7mths too and I had a about a 4mth tease with her sleeping through the night (from about 2mths-6mths) Now she is up anywhere from 1x -4x a night. I can usually feed her and she goes right back but sometimes she's still up and will sort of fuss herself back to sleep. I'm not ready to try CIO just yet so I cave and feed her because it's a quick fix. I'm hoping this will end when she cuts her first tooth (of course I'm sure it will start up again for the 2nd tooth )

It's probably nothing you're doing - some kids are good sleepers, some aren't. My daughter didn't sleep through the night, as in, more than a 5 hour stretch, consistently, until she was about a year old! BUT, ever since then, she sleeps 12-13 hours a night, straight through...

Lord I feel your pain. As previous posters have said, I think some babies are good sleepers and others aren't. My DD slept through the night at 3.5 months old but my DS, on the other hand, is approaching 7 months old and wakes on average about 3x per night. We tried CIO at 4.5 months but it didn't work for night wakings. We are going to do it again next weekend, but with the "close the door and don't go back in till morning" strategy. If you can do it, its worth a shot.

Are you feeding her when she wakes up? If you are, she might just be waking out of habit. I know it's hard, but if you can, try to stop feeding her when she wakes. See if she'll fall back asleep without it. It might be tough at first, but she may surprise you. I really believe you have to break them out of the habit of feeding in the middle of the night. But that's just me. Good luck!

Charlie is 6 months and he still doesn't. We have a midnight bottle but we are done with the 3am feeding. He still wakes up, but I give him his pacifier and he goes back to sleep..

Thanks for the advice.
My DD is taking her last bottle at 8 830 and then every time her pacifer comes out of her mouth she starts fussing.
By her next feeding is about 1 - 2 am I have been up at least a half a dozen times to put the pacifier in her mouth.
Then 1 am 2 am bottle and then sometimes again at 5 - 6am .
My DH gets so annoyed sometimes but I am not good at hearing her cry or fuss I am there like clock work.
I also think my DH is comparing my DD to my DS which at 7 months slepted the night I keep telling her every baby is different and when she is ready to sleep the night she will., He doesnt like this answer but what can I do .??
Well its not so bad if I had to do it allover again I would in a HEART beat .. I love the time with my kids no matter what time it is ...
On another hand if you ask my DH the same question he tell you hes done b.c the kids dont sleep ,...

The reason she is not sleeping through the night is because she is TOO cute to sleep

My DD is nearly 14 mths and not only is she not sleeping through the night yet but she wakes severl times and throws a fit if I dont let her BF....so I am afraid I have no words of advice for you as I obviously have done everything wrong with my little madam.

As far as getting her to sleep all night though, I think you have to stop feeding her at night and in the early am. At 7 months she should be able to go all night without needing to eat. I had the same problem with Marron at around the same time. For the first few nights I fed her, then I started watering down the bottle, then I cut the volume. She got the hint and stopped waking up.

ETA: I also used to have to go in alot to put the paci back in. Eventually she started being able to find it herself. Maybe you can try putting a bunch in there so all she has to do is reach out and it will be there for her?
