Can you cook in a crock pot for TOO long?
When we crock pot we are always home. Ive always been scared (for no good reason) to have it running when we go to work but figured it will be worth it to try.
I noticed ours only goes up to 10 hours. We normally leave the house by 7am and aren't home until about 6:30. If it switches to warm for that last 90 minutes, does the food get gross?

I havent used mine enough to really know, but I did use it once with a whole chicken and had it on the 10hr setting, then let it go to warm until we got home and the chicken was a bit dry (which was weird, I thought it would be xtra moist!).

If I do a brisket or a piece of lamb or something, I leave it on low for like 24 hours (if I can) and it always turns out delish. I think if you are doing a tough cut of meat, you will be fine, however with something like chicken (I haven't done chicken in the slow cooker) you might have to be careful.

as long as there is enough liquid you should be fine.
I like to use larger cuts of meat, especially for times I leave it on longer. Like today I made turkey tenderloin in it. Started it at 7:30am, we are not eatting until after 8pm. But it's been on warm since 3:30pm and it tastes fine when it's time to eat.

just make sure there is enough liquid.
only when its out of liquid does the food begin to get dry and nasty.
