can you do black accent pieces with chocolate furniture?
such as the table that goes in the back of the couch?/ (we are not going to have a coffee table right now.

TOTALLY
i have these pieces in the LR plus a oval coffee in similar wood tone as the drum end table. i incorporated more black in the accessories.

I have it in my living room.
Cherry entertainment center, black end tables and a black coffee table. The black has an antique cherry rub on the edges though.

Absolutely..we have chocolate colored couches and black coffee tables with neutral color tiles in the top of them to pull it all together.it looks great!
