Can you ever return shoes that you have worn?

I bought a pair of Cole Haan Nike Air shoes from Bloomingdales. I bought them for comfort but I wore them to work today and they totally don't fit right. I think I need a half size larger. I've never tried to return/exchange worn shoes before.

I did buy a pair of Cole Haan Nike Air shoes from the Cole Haan store a year or so ago and had a similar problem. I didn't ask for an exchange. They just tried to stretch them out for me. It didn't really work and I have never worn these shoes again.

Do I have a chance of returning/exchanging?

I bought them 2 days ago.

Maybe I should just know that Cole Haan Nike Air shoes don't fit me properly.

According to my DH you can return anything. LOL! I think the key is you have to return them and state that something is wrong with the item.

I've returned shoes that I wore once. They were so uncomfortable they killed my feet. They accepted them

When I worked in retail people would return used toilet seats , pillows with hairs on them , and table cloths with sauce stains.
We HAD to take them back.
If you return them and say they did not fit right, I am sure they will have to take them back!

Not sure...I think they look at the treads to see if they were worn. I hope they wouldn't put worn and returned shoes back up for sale!

I bought a pair of heels once that tore the crap out of the back of my heels. I brought them back the next day, explained what the issue was and they accepted them.

I would probably just accept that these shoes aren't the right fit for your feet and not even try to get another size since you had the same issue not too long ago.

I've returned sneakers to one of the sneaker places in mall. They would only give me a store credit and not a refund. Which was fine since I found something that fit better.

Can I return half my shoes in my closet? JK.

I have plenty of high heels that aren't very comfy but it has nothing to do with fit.

With the Cole haans, I think it is the way it is cut. For both shoes I have, they both kill the back of my foot. I think my foot slides forward and the top of the back of the shoe digs into my foot. Not sure if this makes sense. When I try it on at the store, it fits fine.....until I go home and wear them out.

return them! I do it all the time, I'll order from shoes.com and try them around my house and if they suck they go back!

You can although many companies reserve the right to accept them on a case by case basis and you shouldn't expect cash back. Worse case scenario they say no but maybe they can offer to then stretch them for you for a better fit. Many stores would rather take them back than have an irate customer bc an unhappy customer is more likely to complain to all her friends about the service she recieved. you have a good chance of AT LEAST getting an exchange.

the store should take them back, but you could also email the company that manufactured them and complain and a lot of times they might do something for you- send out a new pair or whatever

I was able to exchange a pair of Tory burch flats at bloomingdales.

I have because the shoes were so uncomfortable and gave me blisters in several places on my feet (I was preggo at the time). I brought them back to the store and they gave me a refund.

Some stores will give a store credit, some a refund. I once had to fight with the cashier at Aldo because shoes I bought made my feet bleed. I'd return them.

Bloomingdales is very good at returns. For them the 200 or so the shoes cost is not going to make or break them - they would rather satisfy a customer that could potentially spend a lot more than that over a lifetime.

I think that bloomies will take them back. Just explain that you wore them once and they were awful, killed your feet, etc.

I returned Cole Haans almost a year later when they peeled at Bloomingdale's...they put the money back on the card

I returned Tory burch heels that were so uncomfortable. I even explained to them. They took them back no problem. It was bloomers.
