Can you FEEL your cervix dilating if it happens over the span of weeks?

Can you FEEL your cervix dilating if it happens over the span of weeks?
I'll know for sure at my doc's appts if I dilated any more than 2cm... I'm just curious if you can keep dilating and not even know it? Or do you FEEL it?

You don't feel it. It just happens really. You could go back and be 4cm dilated and not even realize it was happening.

I didn't feel it at all with DD. I was 2 cm dialated at 33 weeks so put on bed rest and medication then when I went for my internal at 37 weeks the OB said, you are delivering today! You are at 4cm. I had no idea I was dialated even more or for that fact ready for delivery.
