Can you go into full labor and have a c-section?

I have to have a c-section but I am getting nervous that I will go into labor before then. What happens if I go into full blown labor? Can they just give me a c-section right away?

I am getting so worried about this

this is what happened to my mother with me. She was scheduled for a c section early in the AM, and went into full blown labor the night before. They just pushed up the c section a couple of hours.

My friend had a scheduled c-section, and she went into labor before the schedule date.

The MD saw her in the hosptial, and asked her if she'd like to give it a try (vaginal delivery)...after experiencing a few heavy contractions, she said, "heck no"...so she had the c-section.

Yes, you can... I was scheduled for a c/s with my first, and my water broke 3 weeks early and when I got to the hospital, they just prepped me for the c/s at that time.

That happened to me. They scheduled me for a c-section for a Monday morning and then I went into labor at 2:30am on Sunday morning. I was 6 cm by the time I got to the hospital. I was in full blown labor when I got there and contractions were 30 seconds apart. I had to wait a while before I was able to have the c-section because I ate a bowl of cocoa puffs. I had to wait 3 hours. They did give me terbutiline though which helped slow the contractions. I didn't expect it so to me it happened really fast. I'm worried about this happening again, but I'm pretty sure it will. If you do happen to go into labor early, they will be able to do the c-section right away unless you ate something beforehand. Don't worry too much, there really isn't much you can do unfortunately.

I was 9cm dilated and trying everything to deliver regularly but my sons heart rate dropped from 140-40 in seconds so they did a c-section right then and there. so yeah you can have one when your in full labor

In most cases, yes. and in fact for many women they would rather go into labor naturally then just walk into the OR without ever feeling any labor.
there are medical conditions that going into labor is dangerous but in those cases your doctor would be monitoring you very closely and discussing it with you.
